GB0ZLB is the special event callsign issued by Ofcom to run the amateur radio station for the weekend.

What is the special event?
The International Museums on the Air Weekend,
16th & 17th June 2007.
We are trying to contact other museum stations.
Also contact any radio hams who would like our special QSL card to stick on their wall.

Located in
The Zetland Lifeboat Museum (RNLI)
5 King Street,
Redcar.
TS10 3DT.
UK.

The museum is located on the Redcar Esplanade overlooking the North Sea and the mouth of the River Tees.
The museum houses the oldest existing lifeboat.
The boat was built in 1802.
She was named Zetland after the Lord of the Manor.

On the top of the museum building is the Redcar Coastguard lookout.
It is now manned by a volunteer group, Redcar Coastwatch.
It is fully equipped with marine band radio, radar and radio direction finding equipment.
Because our antennas were next to theirs, if there had been any difficulty sighted out at sea we would have closed down and gone to listening watch.

The museum is open Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 4pm. May 1st to September 30th.

International Museums Weekend registration number 5171.
